Editorial policy

This editorial policy explains how we choose, write, fund and update the content of Destination de Voyage. It applies to the whole site, including this English edition.

1. Our mission

To help travellers plan their trips with reliable, up-to-date information that helps them decide: the right time, the right budget, the right paperwork. The site was created in French; the English edition adapts our guides for English-speaking travellers, in particular from the US and the UK.

2. Choice of topics

We focus on the questions travellers actually ask before leaving, identified from the most frequent searches and the questions we receive. We prefer one complete guide on a precise question to several superficial articles on the same subject.

3. Accuracy and sources

  • Factual data comes primarily from official or institutional sources: national weather services, tourist boards and, for entry requirements in the English edition, the U.S. Department of State (travel.state.gov) and the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (GOV.UK foreign travel advice), as well as consular authorities.
  • The sources used are cited at the bottom of each guide.
  • When information is variable (blossom dates, prices, opening hours), we say so and link to the source to check before booking.
  • We do not publish fake testimonials, fake reviews or photos presented as our own when they are not.

4. Writing and tools

Every guide rests first on real sourcing work: collecting data from official sources, checking figures and verifying sensitive information, following our methodology. In addition, the editorial team may use digital tools, including artificial intelligence tools, to help structure and write. These tools never replace research and checking: no data is published without being checked against its source, and every piece of content is reviewed and approved by the team before publication. The same applies to the English adaptations.

5. Images

Destination photos come from licensed image libraries. They illustrate the destination covered and are not presented as photos taken by the team. Some illustrations in practical guides (travel items, generic documents) are generated by artificial intelligence; they never depict a real place.

6. How we fund the site

Destination de Voyage is free and has no intrusive advertising. It is funded in part through affiliate marketing: some links to travel services are partner links. If you book or buy through them, we may earn a commission. The price is the same for you.

Our current partners: AirHelp (help claiming compensation for delayed or cancelled flights) and services available through the Travelpayouts network: Tiqets (tickets and tours), Go City (city passes), WeGoTrip (audio guides), Kiwi.com (flights), Kiwitaxi (airport transfers), Airalo and Saily (eSIMs), Economybookings (car rental) and Compensair (claims for disrupted flights).

  • Disclosure: every partner link is labelled as a partner link and every page concerned includes a transparency notice.
  • Editorial independence: partners do not review our content, do not choose our topics and do not pay to be mentioned. Our recommendations do not depend on commissions.
  • Information first: a guide answers the question first. When something can be done for free (for example claiming compensation directly from the airline) or a ticket is cheaper on the official website, we say so.
  • No fictitious links: we only feature programmes we are actually enrolled in.

7. Updates and corrections

  • Every piece of content shows its last updated date.
  • Guides are revised regularly, and first when important information changes (entry requirements, safety, transport).
  • Any reported error is checked and corrected as quickly as possible. You can report one in English via our contact page.
